The meeting took place on October 25 at the Stellar Gymkhana Resort Hotel. Participants also discussed faculty and staff exchanges between UL and Indian institutions.
Maparyan is in India on a working visit to Sharda University to strengthen a 2022 memorandum of understanding covering joint research and faculty and student exchange. She said her administration wants to make UL “PhD-centric” and rank it among Africa’s top universities.
According to Sharda University’s Ambassador to Liberia and Dean of the Amos Sawyer College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Josephus Gray, about 140 Liberian students currently study at Sharda.
During the visit, Maparyan also met Sharda’s vice chancellor, the head of international relations at the Sharda Group, and the dean of the School of Engineering and Science Technology.
